Setting up your profile
What to fill in first, and why the order matters more than the completeness bar suggests.
Your profile is the thing everything else is seeded from. A CV built from a filled-in profile starts with your real work history rather than a blank page, and the tailoring tools have something to re-frame.
Worth doing first
- 1Add your name, headline and contact details in Settings.
- 2Add your work history — roles, dates and what you actually did in each.
- 3Add skills. These are what employers search on, so be specific: 'PostgreSQL' finds you, 'databases' does not.
- 4Add a photo if you want one. Several CV templates have a slot for it; the ATS-safe PDF never includes it.
