Writing a case study

Describe the work in one box; it becomes problem, approach and outcome.

Write what happened in your own words in a single box. Winkle turns it into the three parts a reader looks for — the problem, what you did, and what came of it.

The rule about numbers

A metric only survives into the case study if YOU stated it — and words count as stating it. 'We roughly halved the queue' is your figure and it stays. A number you never gave is never produced for you, because you are the one who has to defend it.

Where it needs something it does not have, it asks you a question rather than filling the gap with a guess.
