Pros

Compensation is genuinely best-in-class at staff+. The technical bar pushes you to be sharper. Free movement between teams once you're trusted.

Cons

Big-co politics have crept in over the past 2 years. Roadmap whiplash on enterprise products. Promo bar is opaque even for senior folks.

Craft-led culture that actually means it

Pros

Designers and engineers ship as peers. Deep work is protected — no meetings most mornings. Every detail is taken seriously, but without precious gatekeeping.

Cons

Hiring bar can feel opaque from the outside. Small bus factor on some surfaces means you're often the only person who knows X.

Pros

Genuinely calm pace — sprint-style ownership without the hero culture. Mentorship from staff+ folks is real. People care about craft and won't ship something they're not proud of.

Cons

Compensation lags US-headquartered peers (Stripe sets a high bar). Design ladder is still being formalised, so career-pathing requires self-advocacy.

Cons
